Sort lines & remove duplicates

Paste a list to alphabetise it, remove duplicates and blank lines, reverse or shuffle it, add numbering, or turn it into a comma-separated line.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server.

Tips

  • Case-insensitive treats “Apple” and “apple” as the same when sorting and removing duplicates. The first spelling is kept.
  • A–Z sorting is “natural”: item 9 comes before item 10.
  • Chain operations — for example Trim → Remove empty lines → Remove duplicates → Sort — then Undo if you go too far.
  • “Join with comma” turns a column copied from a spreadsheet into one line for an email or SQL IN (…) list.

Need a random winner from the list? Use the name picker or the spin the wheel tool.

Frequently asked questions

Does removing duplicates keep the order?

Yes. The first occurrence of each line stays where it was; later repeats are removed.

How do I sort numbers correctly?

Use “Sort numerically”, which reads the number in each line, so 2 comes before 10.

Is there a size limit?

Tens of thousands of lines are fine. Everything runs in your browser.
